Day 24.
Actually…
Day 0 of starting a blog.
I have always felt the need for some kind of journal-type system for keeping track of my thoughts throughout the day, whether it be at home, at the gym, in the shower, or while driving. Based on the personality test, we took not too long ago I was labeled an INFJ-T. From what I read that means I like to logically process things. Sounds great. But also can get carried away and try to be perfect at things. Not so great.
We set up Google Drive on our desktops and began learning HTML this week. I made a simple four-page website that is all connected to one another.
BOOM! Each of the links works and sends you to a different article on the website.
Looking forward to what we can do beyond just a simple set-up. Just thinking about the eventual possibilities of the web pages we all create inexperience.
Networking.
This is something that I have been thinking about lately. How can I be the best if no one knows that I am the best? If I share things then people can see how awesome I am or… how well I keep it together.
Twitter is a platform that I find to be really simple because all you have to do is post about things you want people to see and follow people who post things you want to see. Through that, you find some pretty cool people who are way better at things than you but it teaches me something.
LinkedIn has never been a favorite of mine. During school we would be required to share certain things on there to present “value” but nowadays, I don’t see anything from it. Although, now that I’m a little more versed in the subject I can see that it is a great opportunity to build a circle that could contain recruiters and other like-minded individuals. Looking for direct jobs, LinkedIn is there.
A portfolio or Github. Both are going to be ways to share my awesome work so they must be important, right?
This blog is another means to the end. I’m excited to work on this and just write about what I am going through or some cool “Ah-ha” moments I come across. I think having work to show for yourself is cool but being able to talk about the successes and failures of that work provides a different perspective.
Most people just post what you want others to see, so being able to see a real aspect of life's small things is valuable. Love or hate it that’s the system and we’re living in this matrix.
Going Beyond.
I would like to use this blog as an opportunity to talk beyond just my professional journey in web development but also about things that inspire me to create and things I generally enjoy. That could be music, film, tv, and even life experiences.
Hey, you made it this far, and if you want to get my opinion on some cool stuff or things happening in general. Hit that subscribe button. Now I sound like creators on Youtube… so I must be doing something creative?
